In its most direct venture into $3.8 trillion medical sectors, Amazon has launched Amazon Care, a pilot program to offer the best health care facilities to nearly 54,000 employees and their dependents based in the Seattle area. The company kicked off the project last September, noting that it was setting up virtual clinics for its employees to receive convinient health care round-the-clock, which went live on Tuesday, the 19th Feb 2020.

Long story short, employees can register to the mobile application to seek on-demand chat and video consultations with medical professionals and enables users to schedule in-person visits with clinicians at patients’ homes or offices. Payment for the services accessed is routed via Amazon.com.

Amazon spokesperson, while addressing the media platforms, said that “We’re currently piloting a healthcare benefit designed to help Amazon employees get fast access to healthcare without an appointment, at the convenience of their schedules, at their preferred location (home, office, or virtual). Amazon Care eliminates travel and wait time, connecting employees and their family members to a physician or nurse practitioner through live chat or video, with the option for in-person follow up services from a registered nurse ranging from immunizations to instant strep throat detection.”

Amazon employees and their families can request to register on the app any day. You are eligible if:

You are an employee aged more than 18 years and work within the service locations, or are a spouse/ partner/other dependents of one.

• You are enrolled in an Amazon health insurance plan.
  Note: Customers enrolled in Kaise Permanente are unable to access th service at the time.
• You live within our current services locations.
